Write for Total-MMA

Do you have a passion for mixed martial arts or combat sports in general?

Do you have an interesting point of view?

Are you looking for a place to write where quality is valued over quantity?

Well, we’re always on the lookout for people who want to contribute to Total MMA so feel free to get in touch if you feel you would be an addition to the site. We won’t ask for FOUR POSTS A WEEK minimum as that’s not our style.

Previous writing experience is not necessarily a bonus as there are so many poor sites on the internet but if you have a portfolio of work then by all means send an example for us to peruse.

Id love to write for you guys. I made my own group on Myspace just so I could write how I felt about MMA. I invited friends but I dont look for much from them because its just a place I care to write and I am not looking for anyone to add anything (though they can if they wish)

I have my own site in which I just launched…feel free to check it out. I try to create original content opposed to just linking to others and giving my opinion(which do do…lol). So if you would like to use some of my articles or do a link exchange…shoot me an email at kelvinhunt@hotmail.com. Thanks!

  5. Jaymee Says:

(error message when i ‘click here so….’) Hello! This is Jaymee, one of the biggest (not physically!:) female mma fans in Canada. I am a photographer/reporter and have been paying the bills for eleven years in real estate photography, and am being hired by fighters and gyms to shoot themselves, their gyms, and their events. Two years ago I was offered a full time position for hockey, but I felt I was not ready, and I do not love the sport. I think I can bring excitement and a fresh attitude to your magazine – try me and see!!! I have always been on the hired by fighter end and I would love to break into the magazine field (my photos to date have only appeared in newspaper). I am willing to start at the bottom and go where it takes me, and I would love a chance to audition by photo for your magazine. I also currently own a fight supply chain in Canada (I say ‘chain, but realistically own a head store and have sold two franchises to date). My passion is not in retail but in reporting/photography!! I have not attached any samples to this email, but would love to send you some of my work to date if you are interested in me. Thank you so much for your time! —– Jaymee (tuff.stuff@live.ca)

  7. Kenwyne Says:

Hey, I’m a (relatively) young MMA fan who’s been following the sport for over 3 years. I have an indepth knowledge of the sport and frequent big MMA news sites such as Sherdog and Five Ounces of Pain. I write for pleasure in my spare time but have never had any oppurtunity to publish my work; the college newspaper, being British, dosen’t like MMA. Thus I would be very interested in contributing to your site. As the other guys have said, this is here because the email address in your contact link dosen’t work. Hope to hear from you soon.

  8. Kenwyne Says:

Heh… I frequent the MMA sites as a reader, not a writer. That came across wrong, my bad.

  9. Tommy Hackett Says:

Thanks for your interest, and I will be in touch with you via email, Ken! The site is about to get a makeover.

  10. George Says:

I feel I could contribute to this site to help it grow, I have been training at the Undisputed gym in San Diego and have met some big shots there. I feel like I follow UFC pretty well along with WEC, Bodog etc.

  11. Tommy Hackett Says:

Thanks, George. I’ll be in touch shortly.

Let’s see less (no) UFWWE coverage, and more legitimate MMA coverage.

Get some writers who don’t want to be mouthpieces.

    Hello,

I would love the opportunity to write for your website and believe I can offer original, well thought out and informative material that can help the website grow and develop. I am currently studying Creative Writing at the University of Winchester and want to pursue a career in magazine/book publication. I feel my passion for writing and my love for martial arts can combine to create a successful partnership between the website and myself. I have an indepth knowledge of martial arts and have studied Judo for 11 years (I’m 22 years old) and Karate for 5 years.

I also run UFC Unlimited, a blog which acts as a portal to some of the best UFC news and videos on the internet. My personal blog, Origami Unicorn is a blog that contains articles on art, fashion, sport, news, travel, films and photo. I recently previewed UFC 111 on this blog. Below is the preview.

Canadian mixed martial artist Georges St. Pierre will do battle against British brawler Dan Hardy at UFC 111 on March 27th. The event will take place in New Jersey, America, in front of a sold out crowd. GSP puts his UFC Welterweight belt on the line - his fourth title defense - against fast talking and fast striking Dan Hardy. Since regaining his crown in 2008 against Matt Serra, St. Pierre has been unstoppable, dominating and demolishing his oppenents at will. Hardy comes into the title fight off the back of an impressive win over fellow contender Mike Swick. That night, Hardy used his superior striking to keep the long armed American at distance, catching him with big shots, and reallly should have finished the fight. GSP is one of the worlds elite - arguably the best pound for pound fighter in the world - but has been knocked out before and has a questionable chin. If Hardy can defend takedowns successfully and keep the fight standing up, then I wouldn’t bet against Hardy landing one of those trademark punches. GSP, though is likely to use his unparalleled wrestling skills to take the fight wherever he wants. We’ve seen GSP destroy Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu expert BJ Penn on the ground before and Hardy is not even close to Penn’s standard. There’s no doubt that Hardy has a chance, after all it only takes one lucky punch to end a contest, but I just don’t think he has the skill to match GSP. Some may argue that St. Pierre is more of an athlete than a fighter. But when he steps into the Octagon on March 27th, Hardy won’t be able to cope. Put you’re money on a GSP win - either by TKO or Knockout in the 2nd round. Also on the main card is a battle between submission specialist Frank Mir and heavy handed Shane Carwin for the Interim Heavyweight Championship. After Mir’s ruthless victory over Cheick Kongo - in which the Frenchman went to sleep after refusing to tap - I’m going for another submission win for the ever improving Mir. In another Welterweight contest, John Fitch and Thiago Alves look to do battle again after Fitch knocked out his opponent with a thundering up kick in their last fight. The winner of this bout could seal a Welterweight title shot against either GSP or Hardy. But remember, both have lost to Pierre in the past. We last saw Alves losing at UFC 100 to that very man and the Brazilian pitbull will be looking to put that right with an comprehensive win. Fitch though, is a real tough cookie and will hope for an early finish after his last three wins have come via unanimimous decision. Expect this to go all three rounds, where Alves will pick up a split decision victory. In the third Welterweight contest of the night, Ben Saunders takes on Jake Ellenberger in what should be an exciting fight. Saunders KO’d his last opponent Marcus Davis with a vicious knee - and Ellenberger stopped Mike Pyle in his last UFC outing. This will be a close fight, but I give the edge to the dangerous Saunders. With one title on the line and another up for grabs UFC 111 should be a night to remember. The review of the event will be posted on March 28th

I think I have a lot to offer and so would relish the chance to learn and develop my skills by writing for your website. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi there.

Just wanted to say that I would be very interested in writing for your website about the world of MMA. I have been a fan for the past 7+ years and love the sport with all my heart. Unfortunately I neither have the talent, nor the incling to step into the ring/cage myself for fear of being decapitated but I would be lying if I didn’t say that writing about it all gives me great joy. I am currently studying media at the University of Surrey in England.

    All the best.

I got an error message as well when I clicked on the “Click here’ button.

I just finished writing a book about the 40 or so street fights I have had, called “Fightey-Town.” Its neither self-aggrandizing nor a “how-to” manual. The book is comprised of humorous essays on the absurdity of my life and odd circumstances surrounding my fist fights.

I would love to send you guys a chapter or two as a writing sample, if anyone else is interested just email me at hg957@yahoo.com and I’ll send you some over, people are telling me its hilarious.

    Hello
I’m looking for a good site to write MMA articles for. I’ve been passionate about this sport and have been following it for the past 15 years. Have a great week and I look forward to hearing back from you.

    Thanks,

    James Mckenney

  20. Joser Says:

    Hello,

I am very interested in writing predictions and fight breakdowns as well as post fight analysis for an MMA website. I am very passionate about MMA and train daily in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. I do not have much experience writing professional articles but I do have a Bachelor’s degree in social and behavioral sciences. My education and knowledge of the sport more than make up for my lack of professional writing experience. As an example here is a link to some predictions I did on the spot as the fights were about to take place. I went 4 of 6 on my predictions and my McCorkle-Struve analysis was pretty much dead on.
