UFC’s Goran Reljic Saves Two More Lives
Posted by Tommy Hackett on November 23rd, 2008

This was reported last week in Slobdana Dalmacija in Croatia and has since been picked up by FightTicker and the UFC Official Site. It’s the only thing in MMA this week that I enjoyed more Al Stankie’s interview at CagePotato.com (I love that name).
Seems the 24 year old Mr. Reljic was fast asleep at his home along the Adriatic coast when he heard the crash of a car taking a dip in the drink. The UFC middleweight prospect ran outside — not in his BJJ purple belt, but his boxer shorts — and dived into the cold water to save two young men. He had to break the car’s side window in the process.
Reljic’s manager Zoran Saric told UFC.com’s Thomas Gerbasi that he’s actually done this kind of thing before.
“Actually this is second time that I know Goran saved a life in the water,” he recalled. “Two years ago, he jumped into a wild storm near the cliffs in the Adriatic Sea, where a person was swimming and trying to get out the water, but the waves and current were so strong that they were pulling the person back in. I have no idea how Goran
managed to pull that person out of the sea, but he did it.”
Sadly, even Reljic couldn’t save Cro-Cop’s action movie, which was also filmed along the Adriatic Coast…
Seriously, we call these guys fighters, but when they win a fight like this they deserve a completely different kind of respect. Expect Rogan and company to give this incident some air time next UFC. We hear enough about the superman punches, hopefully this real life Superman gets his day in the sun.
