For the WEC, "everything is screwed" to a certain extent, as you so eloquently put it. How can't it be? Their biggest stars lost. I like Carlos Condit fine, but the dude is barely a top 10 welterweight if he's one at all. Jaime Varner's no top lightweight. With 205 and 185 gone, that leaves them with not much, especially when they're relying on the fans seeing 4-5 live fights once every 2 months.

Faber's mental lapse is telling. Brown was a guy he shouldn't have taken lightly under any circumstances, and he did the whole fight. Filho's looked terrible ever since PRIDE collapsed, and his camp is talking 205 now. No reason to believe he looks any less lifeless fighting much larger opponents.

Yeah, Faber got caught, he'll be back. But like I said in the forum, good for Brown who's improved leaps and bounds the last few years.

(and KID actually hasn't been looking so hot lately anyway.)

I don't think Filho's record is "inflated" either; it's clear he's under very different circumstances now, and not the same fighter.

I don't know if anybody is saying that Faber is done. I think it was clear that Urijah Faber beat Urijah Faber last night, Mike Brown was just the arm that he walked into.

Why is it that everytime a top guy loses, there is always one of these dumb articles talking shit about how everything is screwed for them? Filho lost his first and Faber his second...it is not the end of the road for either, nor is it unbelieveable. What is unbelieveable is expecting a fighter to go through their entire career without running into someone who is a better fighter on a certain night. Save this crap until they both lose 5 in a row, please...They are far from being done just yet.
