This is what I’m saying. When I sat down and actually looked at this fight, it was hard to just say, “Well, Herring is screwed.” Honestly, he isn’t. Everybody likes to dog him because he wasn’t beating the PRIDE elite. Well, who really has beaten the PRIDE elite? Other than the JOB fight he has been solid in UFC.

Herring is a solid pro with plenty of experience. There’s nothing wrong with him as a fighter. He’s also beaten wrestlers with similar credentials as Lesnar.

Well, he has enough power to knock out an unprepared dude before the bell rings. I think a barrage of shots from Herring could be dangerous for Lesnar, unless Lesnar has developed some good stand up all of a sudden (it is possible). If it were anybody else I’d probably talk about Herring like a hack, but Lesnar is so untested.

One kibble: I don’t think Herring has much power in his hands. I don’t think he’s ever knocked out a decent fighter standing with punches and I don’t really remember him wobbling anyone either. Plus, his technique is awful, though obviously still probably better than Lesnar.
