The Gracies especially Helio understood what was happening but opted to take the credit for himself passing it to his sons. If they had honor any one of them, not just the gracies, they would admit that these moves belong to Judo and the genius of Jigoro Kano. Count koma was a kodokan Judoka do a wikipedia search on him. I came across this article after googling for a on-line copy of Kawaishi. I've recently loaned out my hard copy of the English edition; I've been helping a BJJ group with judo throws and have taken it upon myself to teach some history as well. So I pointed out the illustration for kagato-jime and left the book behind for them to browse and find any other techniques they might recognize. And now I've forwarded this article along.
