Thompson is not a good fighter and even then, he was doing well against Kimbo. The matchmaking was obviously in Kimbo's favor, as Thompson was coming off of a few losses, so it is easy to say that Kimbo was exposed to a lot of fans finally, just like we were expecting. JT had many opportunites to finish this fight, especially in round 2 and either could not or would not take them. In one of his first takedowns, he was in Kimbo's VERY open half guard and never bothered to pick his leg up from between Kimbo's legs, which may as well have been in New York and California respectively for all the defense they were providing, and take the screaming to be taken full mount. Instead he waited a bit and took side control for a bit and then WOW! Kimbo spun outta there. The crucifix position which amounted to nothing after Kimbo's "amazing scissor sweep". The worst display of being unable/not allowed to finish was at the end of the second round when JT had Kimbo pinned against the fence, left arm trapped under JT's left leg and for 90+ seconds all he can drop is pitty pat elbows and hammer *cough cough* punches that my 86 year old grandmother could have put more force into. "kimbo should target that alien life form that used to be JT's ear" came the call earlier in the round and lo and behold, right on cue early in the third round, Kimbo hits and EXPLODES the aforementioned achilles heel of JT and that finishes the fight. How very Rocky.... "you could almost hear them whispering, "Now?" "No not yet." "Now? "No not yet." "NOW?"
